The ECD Project focuses on providing age appropriate high quality teaching learning materials which are suitable for children who are in ECD centers. The ECD PMU prepares a package which includes play oriented educational materials such as toys, blocks and shapes, sand trays, puzzles and measuring devices and reading materials in all three mediums – Sinhala, English and Tamil.

These reading materials and books are carefully selected by an expert committee and then sent to ECD centers that are funded by the ECD Project.

On 5th February 2020, a panel of resources personnel conducted such a gathering, held at the Children’s Secretariat Auditorium, to select reading materials and identifying books for resource packs that will be sent to ECD centers for 2020 that are supported by the ECD Project.

At this meeting a review of the training conduced thus far by the ECD PMU was also reviewed.
